SuperGIS Toolkit Supports Analyst Extension Functions

SuperGIS Toolkit in SuperGIS Desktop 3.1a supports analysis extensions for advanced geoprocessing and analyses. Integrating with plentiful GIS tools, SuperGIS Desktop 3.1a allows GIS experts to easily accomplish diverse GIS tasks such as spatial data display, editing, management, query and analysis. The desktop GIS software also serves SuperGIS Toolkit that assists users in employing spatial analyses quickly.

With hundreds of GIS analysis tools, SuperGIS Toolkit enables users to utilize Process Designer to define geoprocessing function and then procedure and conduct batch processing for the mass of data. SuperGIS Toolkit offers the analysis functions including Clip, Select, Intersect and so forth and the data management tools such as Add Feature, Rotation, Add Attribute Field, etc.

SuperGIS Toolkit now supports analyst extensions such as SuperGIS 3D Analyst, SuperGIS Network Analyst and so on. Therefore, users who have licensed SuperGIS Analyst Extensions can complete more sophisticated analysis tasks by adopting analyst extensions in SuperGIS Toolkit directly.

Moreover, the functions and processes defined by SuperGIS Toolkit can be published to front-end website via SuperGIS Server 3.1a to provide more data analysis capabilities via web services.

Android-powered SuperSurv 3.1 Optimizes Feature Editing Function for Accurate Data Collection

SuperSurv 3.1, the mobile GIS application for Android devices, optimizes the feature editing function to assist field surveyors in collecting spatial data accurately.

With SuperSurv 3.1, field surveyors are able to easily collect spatial data. Not only supporting common vector layer formats like GEO and SHP, the mobile GIS software can employs local cached map (SGT file) or SuperGIS Server services as base map to improve survey efficiency.

The latest SuperSurv 3.1 adds added feature rotation function and snapping settings. The feature rotation function can modify feature orientation and position by selecting a line feature or a polygon feature on the map and setting anchor point. In addition, users can snap a vertex to another precisely according to the snapping tolerance set by users during the editing.

SuperSurv 3.1 supports multi-language interfaces, including traditional Chinese, English and French. The Italian interface will be added in the near future.

Supergeo Exhibited at Middle East Geospatial Forum 2013

Last week Supergeo exhibited at Middle East Geospatial Forum, Qatar. The event was a success with new clients meeting with us to discuss the collaboration opportunity for the local market.

This year we showcased the latest GIS innovations, including SuperGIS Server 3.1, SuperGIS Desktop 3.1a along with powerful extensions, and mobile GIS applications for Windows mobile and Android OS such as SuperPad 3.1, SuperSurv 3.1.

Visitors were impressed at how SuperGIS software works to fulfill different application needs. Our technical team also had face-to-face communication and immediate and valuable feedback from the target users.

During the event, Super Wang, the CEO & Chairman of Supergeo recognized the client, Moalajah, personally who demonstrated the practical and creative solution by representing SuperGIS Application Excellence Award of 2012. It was a great time to visit you in Qatar. Thank you all and see you next year!

Moalajah Improves Project Decisions with SuperGIS e-Map Application

With the population, urban sprawl, and irrigation demands grow in the world, the sustainable and efficient management of water has become a necessity and a concern in recent days. Therefore, properly managed water resources are essential to poverty reduction, socio-economic development, and maintenance of ecosystems.

Moalajah is a joint venture between Veolia Water and Besix. Serving as their subsidiary, Moalajah FZC LLC focuses on operation and maintenance of waste water services, facilitating customer billing and consolidation, and minimizing environmental impacts to protect water resources. Hence, recycled water can be used to replenish sensitive ecosystems or commercial uses such as irrigation and golf course maintenance.

Moalajah is also proficient in developing strategies to meet the needs of biological and chemical treatment, helping achieve savings in energy and chemical consumptions. Its carbon and water footprint initiatives have allowed clients to
satisfy stakeholders’ expectations and greatly reduce environmental resource impacts.

In the project, SuperGIS Server, the web-based GIS software, is used to assist higher management in obtaining reliable analysis, search results, and interactive visual information of the entire properties and assets located in the Ajman Emirate to make better decisions. The web application is developed with existing OGC-based geodatabase connected with Oracle based database and SuperGIS Server.

Moreover, various pop-up menus are created on the searching criteria, helping the management analyze the assets and properties in the Ajman Emirates, import data from CSV into the application, and then export reports to PDF and EXCEL formats. The application also performs advance searching tools based on multiple values and measurement tools to perform precise measures.

Due to the development of the e-map application system, the GIS layers can be easily overlaid on high resolution satellite imagery to provide Moalajah with in-depth analysis for improving its water and wastewater services in the Middle East.

The 1st Supergeo Young Application Award ceremony was successfully held on February 26, 2013, with winners honored in Taipei. The application contest aims to help students encourage the creations and uses of SuperGIS software in different research fields.

This year’s top 3 Young Application Award recipients included Huang Rai De and Chen Yi Chun (Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology), Yan Chi Feng (National Taiwan Normal University), Chang Yu Chun (Providence University), who developed practical approaches to the problems in the applications of tourism development, emergency preparedness and response, land-use planning, etc.

The best project demonstrates how the city halls in Taoyuan, Taiwan benefit from high-quality maps that are used to visualize critical vulnerabilities and damage consequences. Launched by the local government, the project helps the inhabitant increase the awareness of environmental risks, understand the potential disasters in the living environment, and better mitigate a disaster or emergency situation.

In addition, the winning recipients were also invited to give the presentations at the ceremony, which offered an opportunity to facilitate communication among GIS learners, educators, and general users. Supergeo will continue to hold the application contests for students to come out with new ideas and share their most innovative GIS projects using SuperGIS software.
